DIY Baby Doll Ring Sling
Anyone else have a child who has to carry their baby doll, blanket, drink, toys… and who know what else she can pick up along the way with them EVERYWHERE? This gift is not only a “fun“ gift but so functional for my 2.5-year-old girl. She LOVES her babies and with a baby on the way in March, it’s the perfect gift to help her nurture the babies in her life. I love gift-giving with development in mind — I have a whole podcast on this subject.
So Charlie helped me sew and then model this cute gift.

What you need:
Fabric - I used a remnant that was on sale that was the PERFECT size and the texture of cotton canvas. It’s measurement comes to about 45”x17” which means all you need is about a 1/2 yard of fabric to do this.
Wood 2” Rings (you can also use metal but I love the look of the wood)
Sewing Machine
how to do make it
wash and iron your fabric
do a basic rolled hem along the long edges and one side — fold the raw edge 1/2” then 1/2” again and stitch along the folded edge (I ironed it because Charlie was controlling my sewing machine so I had to be READY to speed lol).
eyeball a pleat situation on the other end about 3” width and do a zig-zag stitch on the raw edge
weave it through the two rings and sew
Tada! that’s it! SOOO easy.
If you’re not a DIY-er, here are some options to buy a baby doll carrier.
