Xo Playtime: Cars

Every time I open up questions on Instagram -- I get MULTIPLE asking "how do I get my kid to play independently?"

There's no way we'd be surviving quarantine if my kids couldn't play independently (I'm talking my 3.5-year-old and the 21-month-old). Seriously. It's a LONG time to be completely engaged with your children, and keep up on the laundry, keep the stress down from the dang news, dishes, food... and never get a break. So I'm here to tell you, YOU DO GET A BREAK-- during independent play.

In the car plan, I have some independent activities... usually the most engaging for Charlie are the building and sensory. And for Maelie it's the sensory or anything she can push around the room repeatedly.

In my twice a month #xoplaytime plans I have even more activities around a new theme every two weeks in the areas of creative arts, science, math + engineering, sensory, social studies, and gross motor.

I want to help YOU to encourage your children to play independently. Sooooo... drum roll... I did a "large group" style video for the XO PLAYTIME CAR THEME for your young children. It's on Youtube and on IGTV. You can stream it on the computer, iPad, phone or TV.

Let your kids watch it... I talk a little about cars, sing a song about dinosaurs/cars and get an INDEPENDENT PLAY challenge at the end of the car's Xo Playtime Plan. I plan to do one for each theme (the next one is on Dinosaurs, then Eggs-- stay tuned). And yes, preschool level guitar and singing... it's for the children k LOL.

Feel free to share if your kids enjoy!
