Ease Child’s Anxiety Around Medical Procedures through Play | Our Generation Dolls

These dolls are way too much fun. I actually have caught myself getting WAY too into the play myself. They have an OXIMETER and OXYGEN MASK, people! I love that they have real tools for patient care.

Toys like these are helpful for kids in SO many ways. They are realistic and encourage a lot of imagination used, pretend play, problem-solving and give them a deeper understanding of real-life experiences.

I love the Our Generation brand in general because it’s such an affordable way to encourage so many themes of pretend play.

Does your child have fear around medical procedures?

Are they unsure or uncomfortable around people with disabilities or on oxygen?

Did they just get a difficult diagnosis?

Did you answer yes to any of these??? SOO, what do you do?

YOU PLAY!!!!

  • Playing doctor is a type of pretend play that nourishes the imagination

  • It encourages problem-solving and brain development

  • It can help eliminate doctor-related fear

Doctor toys make it easier for your child to pretend play.

They’ll become more familiar with the real tools that a doctor might use

during a basic check-up.

These toys linked above and below.

Ease Anxiety about Medical Procedures & Appointments

  • Use dolls or puppets to act out what might happen at an upcoming appointment

  • Create art collages with Band-Aids or use tongue depressors for art projects

  • Check out books about similar experiences
