DIY Advent Calendar | 25 Days of Christ

25 days of Christ

This is our first year doing Advent calendars, besides the $1 waxy calendars… I’m SO excited about this family Advent. This will take the focus and be the discussion at the end of the night. This family advent is what I’m most excited about.

The kids will be so excited to reach in each day and see what’s inside. Each night we will learn about Jesus’s birth, life, death, resurrection, and miracles.

The 25 Days of Christ is from New Tradition Crafts. They created 25 ornaments (your choice of the Bible or Book of Mormon). Along with the ornaments are little booklets. In the booklets, you’ll find a summary story related to the ornament, scripture or quote, and possibly even a Bible video linked with a QR code. It makes it SO SO easy and doable for busy families to take a minute to bring CHRIST into the season and home.

DIY Advent

I really enjoyed making my own advent calendar, because I’m also going to stuff a few extra surprises in it for my kids and I love the room left over inside. I also love embellishing it with some extras, and when it gets closer some fresh pines inside.

Here are the supplies I used:

Shoe Organizer from Amazon

Vinyl Heat Press

Silhouette Cameo 4

If you don’t have a vinyl cutting machine, another option is to print numbers on construction paper and use a clothespin to put them on each pocket. There are really cute ideas on Pinterest with this style!

Another fun option if you aren’t a DIY person are the advent bags from New Traditions Craft. You can purchase them separately for 42.99 and stuff the ornaments inside of those.

Happy crafting!
