Kid's Pack Story | Panic, Anxiety & Emotional Reactivity in Kids

My daughter has always been a bit more emotional and reactive.

We’ve worked on a lot of things behaviorally over the years.

You know I’m the world’s #1 advocate for expressing your emotions, and co-regulation and working through triggers. We use the safe place. I literally wrote a children’s book about supporting kids emotions and bringing their lava down.

When our kids volcanoes are full of lava, it’s so easy for that explosion to seep out. And when we can support them with skills and tools, that can help bring the lava down.

Kindergarten Tears

So when my daughter started struggling in kindergarten with problem solving and panic, and crying every day. I started losing sleep at night. When I learned she had been crying every day at school, and I had no idea, I bawled.

When I was a little girl, I struggled with anxiety at school too.

We are not at the end of the year, and she’s a completely different child. She’s filled with problem solving skills, emotional support and the Kid’s Pack that just send us completely over to the other side of things.

Things I was losing sleep over:

  • does she know how to make friends?

  • will she want to do anything extracurricular?

  • she’s going to get so overwhelmed and cry when she doesn’t understand the lesson

  • she’s so emotionally reactive, I worry that she’s not enjoying school

  • is she happy?

  • will she be behind academically because of these big emotions?

Vs. the end of the year

  • she’s confident

  • she makes friends with other kids at the park

  • she problem solves and is so kind and compassionate

  • she’s forgiving and helpful

  • she’s in dance, and doing a Pageant with a solo talent part

  • she’s so happy

  • she tries new things!!!

1.) Have a Base Knowledge of Anxiety & How it Works

I’ve study anxiety a lot over the years and have a whole section on it in the course that I have for families. It’s really useful to understand our nervous system, fight/flight behaviors and what that looks like for our kids… and most importantly the timing of the teaching.

We cannot teach a child or problem solve, while they are in fight/flight. So we have to work on these skills proactively when their body is regulated.

2.) Practice Problem Solving

When she first started having a hard time at school, I looked at that volcano and looked at the patterns. She was having the hardest time with problem solving. If something wasn’t working out for her, she’d go straight to panic. We would talk through the situations each day, but it wasn’t enough.

I printed up a chart that looks like this, and each day she solved a problem instead of panicked we would record it on her chart. When the chart was full, we did something of her choosing. The first one was to go to the fun park. The second one was to GET HER EARS PIERCED. (A Full circle moment because she had been panicking about getting those done for years).

In my Emotionally Strong Families Course I have a whole section about problem solving if you want to look into this more.

3. Kid’s Pack

I stopped the charts all together when we begin taking the kids pack. The combination of kids pack and all the other skills we had worked on up to this point, really helped her be comfortable in her own skin.

She was happy, helpful, brave, confident.

And it worked QUICK.

Kids cannot fake that.

A few months into it, we just look at her and feel so grateful that her anxiety isn’t at the fore-front of all our worries. She’s THRIVING!

After seeing what it did for her, and for me too, I signed up to partner with the company. If you have these worries and fears with your child. Worrying that anxiety will rob them from joy at such a young age, you need to invest in the Kid’s Pack too.

What is the kids pack?

As kids and teens grow, their minds and bodies are continuously developing. However, we seem to overlook the importance of that development when we’re young. After all, we’re all taught how to take care of our physical health at a young age, but what about our mental health? It’s just as or more important, yet we tend to only focus on the body’s impact on our well-being. It’s time for a change. Mental wellness can no longer be looked as an afterthought — in fact, it’s actually the primary driver of health and happiness.

Kids and teens especially need products that will help develop, support and optimize both the mind and body. With the Amare Kids PackTM, all three of Amare’s signature kids products are included, making it a complete mind and body nutrition system for kids and teens.

Kids FundaMentals®, the offspring of our award-winning Amare FundaMentals Pack®, connects the gut and brain to enhance the communication between both brains in kids and teens. Kids VitaGBX balances both the mind and body, plus provides the key nutrients kids and teens need as they grow. And finally, Kids Mood+ supports youth stress resilience and a better mood.

The best of the best. That’s what you get with the revolutionary Amare Kids Pack. The best gut-brain axis support. The best full-body vitamins. The best mood- boosting nutrition. The first all-natural formulation of its kind to empower your kid from head to toe so they can be their best — student, artist, athlete, servant leader — self.
