Surviving the Candida Diet Detox

After two months on my Anit-Candida Diet (ACD)... I was starting to get a little bit loosey goosey. My protocol was pretty "up to interpretation" as far was what wasn't included on the list. I googled it... until I found someone who said I could eat it or not and just went with that. Fast forward to now.

I found a protocol online. I had happened upon this website SO many times when researching about candida... and finally I was scrolling through their program.

* Evidence based, up to date research

* 60 days...

* Five stages

* Guidance, recipes, symptom tracker.

I couldn't believe my eyes. I scrolled down and down, just excited about a program that gave me a little bit more direction and support... and in 60 days. Now that sounded too good to be true. My original protocol was 3 months, but since I was so lax toward the end, I needed to start over with something stricter and fully commit til the end.

The best part is, this program only cost $37 and it came with four ebooks.

I have learned SO many things already from the first few sections of the book.

Let me get to my detox.

The detox is the first 3-7 days. Since I had been doing a mostly ACD for two months, I knew I'd be closer to three days. The point of the detox is to help the liver, clean out the colon and really knock out anything from the diet that feeds candida or disrupts digestion.

I could only eat vegetables for three days. And organic eggs. And the detoxifier drink, yum (yuck).

Now I thought, three days, this won't be that bad. Except halfway through the day I would get food aversions... because the vegetables aren't very filling compared to the proteins and carbs like crackers I was eating. And I just couldn't stand eating so many veggies alllll dayyyyyy loooooong. Plus I lived on the cutting board. Needless to say, it was very hard... and I had to get creative with what I was eating, how I was making it...

The end of the third night, I don't think I had eaten enough that day. I got the worlds WORST migraine. Literally sat on my shower floor and let the water run over me until it turned cold. It was seriously not cool. I blame the detox...So I decided the detox was over. And Day 3, I started phase one.

Three Foods that Make the Detox Bearable

#3. Cauliflower Rice

I feel like I spent three days in the kitchen.

Tons more positive things to say about phase one, but that's for another day!
