I am a big believer in empowering women. I don't believe we are better than men. I think we each provide strengths and can each do powerful and amazing things.
Men can have compassion for their children and cook and clean. Women can create businesses, be successful, love their bodies and their children, do things for themselves and it will help them be better humans, wives and mothers.
I'm a believer that we can put together our own furniture (mostly cuz I want it done on my time). I'm a believer that we can use power tools, we can lift weights, we can wear baseball hats, we can do whatever we want to do! And the only way we can prove that is not with a sign or a viral blog article, it's by finding something we love and going for it. No matter what it is, you can do it!
Something I am passionate about is creating things. This means I will stop at no limit to get my project, built, sanded, stained, lettered, painted or hung. I don't need permission. I don't need to wait for my husband to cut the wood. I feel empowered in being able to use my own talents and strengths to fulfill my visions and creations.
I know a lot of awesome women/men out there who pursue those dreams and projects without permission. I just thought you might need to hear it again.
Here are some things that I created recently.
Charlie crawled around the garage (his favorite place to explore), as I moved from power saw, to sander, to stain, to staple gun. I love how these prints look on canvas, framed with wood on top and bottom.
