Marriage/Family Therapist Applying Xo Parenting Strategies

I have a genius mom who studied Child Development and is a Marriage Family Therapist. She has come to TWO of my live workshops and taken my tantrum class.

She said she took my tantrum class thinking it'd be a refresher, but she was MIND BLOWN. 🙌🏻She said it was life-changing. She more grounded, she's listening and SEEING her children.

Guys, she has all the educational background in the world and this stuff still helped her. That is why I share. That's why I repeat things we may already know or intuitively think. When I read new things, it changes me and I study this stuff for a living (and for fun).

Byyyyye unncessary tantrums

This parent had a little girl who was constantly throwing tantrums. One particular scenerio that reoccured was her asking for something like, I want ice cream and her parents saying, not right now.

She tried a new strategy with intention & hope. Her daughter said, "I want ice cream," she said determined, pulling open the freezer.

With a small shift in tone and wording, the scenario completely changed. The mom said first dinner, then ice cream. The child knew after dinner she'd get ice cream. A hard no, and then the explanation would eventually get the message across. For young children “first, then” works so much smoother and staying consistent with anything you use this statement for will build trust and quick cooperation.

Take the course!

Her Husband’s Thoughts

Sometimes it’s hard to get on the same parenting page. We all have different triggers, backgrounds and were raised by totally different parents. Because we come in with our own views of behavior and how we will discipline our kids… and because have our own temperaments in the mix… we aren’t always on the same page with positive parenting.

This is why I LOVE when couples come to my workshops or take my classes together.

This particular woman messaged me and said, My husband last night after the workshop said—

“wow. That was really good. I had never realized when they act out, they need help with learning skills“

She went on to say herself,

Your info is changing lives. Just in two weeks our tantrums are like 1 or 2 a day. It seemed to be all day everyday. It’s like you gave US the missing skill
