DIY Bathroom Makeover on a Budget
When we moved in our house we started with a kitchen makeover, redid flooring, built a wall and finished the downstairs. The home improvement budget we had saved for years quickly vanished. But I was so excited about my newly designed rooms, and wanted to freshen up the other spaces.
I had a small budget to work with and couldn’t hire any subs. Mostly cuz I wanted it to be my project, but also because of the time, money and inconvenience. SO I DID IT.
It started with taking down the light and tearing off the mirror. The mirror went on with A LOT of glue, and I didn’t have a pry bar. I used a butter knife and some plastic ikea spoons. The first break smacked my in the forehead and cut the skin. After that I watched youtube videos and taped up the mirror to keep it in tact.
To paint the cabinets, I just sanded them really well, dusted them off and used a brush and sponge brush to paint the color on. I did 3 coats or so. And then added the hardware.
I rewired the lights, switched out the faucet and plug, painted the wall and cabinets.
